Tomboy

Tomboy is a small, color zine created as an accessible and straightforward gender manifesto. In just a few pages, the comic’s character speaks directly to the reader about gender expression and sexuality.

Self-published in 2017, it was later printed in Portugal in 2019 by Sapata Press.

That same year, it was selected for the Diversa exhibition at the Museum of Sexual Diversity in São Paulo, where the illustrations were displayed. The narrative explores various themes — sexuality, performance, gender, and transgender identities — while the character “dismantles,” “deconstructs,” and “reassembles” themselves. However, it never directly answers the question printed on the back of the publication: “Are you a boy or a girl?”
